Heated Rivalry Lands International Slots

Crave has announced a second-season renewal on Heated Rivalry, with Sphere Abacus landing a slew of international deals on the show, produced in partnership with Accent Aigu Entertainment.

Crave’s number one original series debut on record in the first seven-day streams has landed deals with HBO Max in Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Macau, Sri Lanka, Nepal), Latin America, and Europe (excluding the U.K. and Ireland, Spain, and Turkey). Plus, HBO Max in the U.S. and Australia and NEON (Sky New Zealand) have committed to streaming rights for a second season.

Heated Rivalry represents the very best of what Canadian creators can deliver: rich characters, compelling drama, and a world audiences want to live in,” said Justin Stockman, VP of content and programming at Bell Media. “The response has been extraordinary, and seeing the series now travelling internationally is an incredible milestone.”

“Watching our show become an international phenomenon has been extraordinary. We’re profoundly grateful to everyone who has been on this journey with us,” added Jacob Tierney, creator, and Brendan Brady, EP. “Being renewed for a second season so early is a true honour, and we can’t wait to bring you even more of what you love.”

The show is based on the best-selling book series Game Changers by Rachel Reid, telling the story of rival hockey players, played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. It is produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment in association with Crave, with the participation of the Canada Media Fund (CMF), and the Bell Fund.
