JoySauce FAST Channel Lands on Prime Video

JoySauce, which caters to delivering entertainment for Asian Americans, has aligned with Cineverse to expand the reach of the JoySauce Network.

A FAST channel delivering Asian pop culture content has landed on Prime Video. Alongside the channel launch is a standalone JoySauce website and VOD apps on iOS and Android. They are powered by Cineverse’s Matchpoint streaming technology platform.

JoySauce Network was founded in 2020 by tech entrepreneur Jonathan Sposato to speak to American Asian themes, delivering scripted comedies, feature films, unscripted reality series, music videos and standup. Content is available via the FAST channel, on-demand via YouTube Movies & TV, and the JoySauce website and apps. Over 60 percent is new to the U.S. or first on FAST. The lineup includes the Critics’ Choice Association Celebration of AAPI Cinema & Television Awards; JoySauce Late Night; VeryAsianConversations; films from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Singapore; American Asian independent features and shorts; a curated lineup of scripted series; game and variety shows and a slate of anime.

“Despite American Asians being the fastest growing demographic in the U.S., there’s still a glaring gap in content for and by American Asians or their communities,” Sposato said. “Building a future where everyone is authentically represented is at the core of everything we do, so we’re incredibly proud to be a catalyst in this long-overdue first step to advance AAPI representation on screen. I want us to stand with more stature, walk with more swagger, and to dance with more joy.”

Jake Rubin, channel co-founder and head of digital networks, added, “In the coming months, the JoySauce FAST channel will debut additional Asian productions, the majority of which will be U.S. market premieres, as well as offer ritualized fandom genre nights, live trivia challenges, exclusive digital film festival screening programs, live-stream events, and audience-selected playlists.”

“JoySauce has successfully built a media company that uniquely serves the American Asian community–from creators to fans—with entertaining content across platforms, and we are proud to leverage Matchpoint to bring such a unique and innovative streaming channel to market,” added Alexandra Viglione, VP of strategic partnerships at Cineverse.
