John Gore Studios Acquires Deep Fusion Films

John Gore Studios has acquired Cardiff-based Deep Fusion Films, a pioneer in using AI tools in premium storytelling.

Deep Fusion Films was launched in 2023 by Benjamin Field, CEO, alongside CCO Jamie Anderson and executive chair Andrew Keats, with a view to using emerging technologies in storytelling. Its slate runs across documentary, factual entertainment, and scripted development, plus “experimental” formats, such as its work in AI-assisted archive reimagining and new hybrid models of creation. It is rooted in transparency, consent, and collaboration as it deploys AI while respecting creativity and IP ownership. Alongside its production work, it is developing proprietary tools for the creative community and IP owners.

Deep Fusion Films becomes part of John Gore Studios’ group of specialist labels while retaining its own identity and leadership team. It will produce and develop its own IP, as well as support the wider slate at its new parent company, assisting with AI expertise, tools, and workflows. Other companies in the John Gore stable include Hilltop Screen, Tyburn Films, Silver Salt Restoration, and KFilm.

Gore, executive chairman, said, “The film and television industry has always evolved through the creation of new tools, but the core of the craft has stayed the same: talent, imagination, and collaboration. Deep Fusion Films understands that instinctively. They are producers firs,t and their work shows how new technologies can open creative possibilities without replacing the human instinct and artistry that great filmmaking depends on. Bringing that mindset into the studio feels like a genuinely exciting next step for us as we look to the future.”

Hilary Strong, CEO of John Gore Studios, added, “Deep Fusion Films embraces innovation with integrity, while respecting and safeguarding heritage. Their blend of creative excellence, technical innovation, and highly principled approach aligns perfectly with our studio’s vision. Benjamin, Jamie, and Andrew have built a company that is not only producing outstanding content but is also at the forefront of setting standards for responsible industry practices. We are delighted to welcome them into the John Gore Studios family and look forward to supporting their continued growth as part of our integrated group.”

Field, co-founder of Deep Fusion Films, said: “Joining John Gore Studios gives Deep Fusion the scale and support to take our work further. We set out to prove that ethical AI is not a constraint but a creative enabler. Being part of a studio that values heritage, craft, and long-term thinking allows us to expand what we do, collaborate more widely, and continue developing formats and techniques that genuinely move the industry forward.”

Anderson added, “Deep Fusion was built to explore what storytelling could become, not just how it is made today. Becoming part of John Gore Studios allows us to embed that thinking across a broader creative ecosystem, supporting partners with best-in-class tools, governance and creative experimentation, while remaining grounded in respect for talent, audiences and IP.”
