BossaNova Media has clinched new sales for Ancient Autopsy, Borderforce USA, and Airport Security: USA, and is restructuring its distribution team as sales co-head Holly Cowdery prepares to exit this month.
The four-part Ancient Autopsy from Yeti Television for Channel 4 has been picked up by National Geographic in the U.S. Meanwhile, UKTV, Seven. One Studios in Germany, RTL Netherlands, and Play Belgium landed season seven of Stampede Production’s Borderforce USA. Talpa Netherlands and DPG Belgium opted for season two of Airport Security: USA, also from Stampede.
Cowdery, who has served as head of sales overseeing the U.S., Canada, LatAm, U.K., France, and Italy, is exiting the Paul Heaney-led distributor this month, having been with the company for almost four years. Heaney, CEO, commented, “Holly has been a vital member of the team, and her achievements have been central to our success.”
Restructuring the team, the company is creating two sales manager roles under Tatiana Grinkevich, who remains in her position of head of sales. Paul Heaney will continue to lead the U.K., the U.S., and Australia, with support from a newly created sales assistant post soon to be announced. The remaining territories will be reallocated across the rest of the team in due time.
“The decision now to switch to a more traditional sales structure is a natural evolution given BossaNova’s maturing over the past five years, the size of the catalogue we’re now seeking to maximize, and the fragmenting of platforms and channels to sell to. With an increased headcount, we want to leave as little potential revenue ‘on the table’ as possible. This is the plan to achieve that.”
