CME will release Michał Marczak’s documentary Closure on its streaming platforms Oneplay (Czech Republic) and Voyo (Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) next month, amplified by a social impact campaign across its TV channels and websites.
The CME Social Impact Center has joined forces with Think-Film Impact Production as the impact partner of the film, which follows a Polish father scouring the Vistula River in Warsaw for answers about the disappearance of his teenage son. It had its world premiere in the World Cinema Documentary Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and has screened at festivals worldwide.
Closure is the first acquisition by the CME Social Impact Center, which launched at this year’s Cannes Film Festival to produce, co-produce and support socially impactful content that drives positive change in Central and Eastern Europe.
“To me, Closure is a film about searching: searching for answers, for evidence and, most of all, for an understanding of what happened and whether it could have been prevented,” said Hana de Goeij, founder of the CME Social Impact Center. “It is exactly the kind of story the CME Social Impact Center was created for. Our channels and platforms reach millions of people across Central and Eastern Europe every day, and we want to use that reach not only to show this extraordinary film, but to start conversations in families and communities about connection and the help that is often within reach.”
