Documentary+ Aligns with WCS to Launch Collection of Conservation Films

Documentary+ is bringing its audiences a collection of wildlife and conservation films from the REEL WILD New York Film Festival through a partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).

The REEL WILD Collection features award-winning feature and short documentaries from independent filmmakers around the world. It is available exclusively on Documentary+, with rental revenues given to the filmmakers and WCS’s global conservation work. Each feature is available for $5.99 and each short for $3.99.

The REEL WILD New York Film Festival in April showcased 28 films, including 12 award winners, 14 official selections, and three Emerging Filmmaker Award winners. The eight titles in the launch collection include The Last Ranger, Turtle Walker, The Bird in My Backyard, After Antarctica, RHINO, Shaba, Haulout, and Leopard Dynasty.

“The REEL WILD Collection is exactly what Documentary+ was built for: extraordinary films from independent filmmakers, paired with a mission that reaches beyond the screen,” said Geoff Clark, CEO of Documentary+. “WCS has spent more than a century protecting wildlife and wild places, and REEL WILD has quickly become one of the most exciting showcases for nature filmmaking. Giving these films a global home on Documentary+, where every view supports both the filmmaker and conservation on the ground, is a partnership we’re incredibly proud of.”

“WCS has a long history of bringing the best in natural history programming to public audiences, through documentaries, feature films, and short-form productions,” said John Calvelli, WCS’s EVP of public affairs. “In our second year, we forged a new path forward with a REEL WILD juried festival to bring an elevated, award-winning collection of films to New York City, and now we’re inspiring millions to care about nature through the REEL WILD Collection on Documentary+. As New York’s own global conservation organization, and a leader within the Association of Zoos & Aquariums with our four zoos and aquarium, it makes perfect sense for Wildlife Conservation Society to engage new audiences globally to care about our planet through the power of film.”

“It’s so exciting to partner with an innovator like Geoff Clark and Documentary+,” added Christine Osekoski, WCS’s executive director of public affairs and partnerships. “WCS and Doc+ share a vision of amplifying incredible films that inspire, challenge, and create meaningful change, and for Wildlife Conservation Society, that means curating a collection of films about wildlife and wild places that spark action. We’re launching the REEL WILD Collection with eight features and short films, and we’ll continue to release award-winning REEL WILD® films from our annual festival that you can only find on Doc+. After next year’s REEL WILD Film Festival, April 8–11, 2027, there’ll be a fresh collection of inspiring films.”

Documentary+ is available in 70 countries and more than 100 million U.S. households across Roku, Samsung, Apple TV, iOS, Vizio, LG, Android, Android TV, Google Play, and Amazon Fire TV. It also has a FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus, DirecTV, Dish, Xumo Play, Plex, Sling TV, Fubo, HP TV+ and other platforms.
