American Idol will mark its landmark 25th edition in 2027, with the talent competition set to return to ABC next year.
The Fremantle and 19 Entertainment format started its U.S. journey on FOX in 2002, where it remained till 2016. Two years later, ABC revived the brand. The new season will air on ABC, with next-day availability on Disney+ and Hulu. Live episodes will stream immediately on Disney+.
Auditions begin in late August and will take place in all 50 U.S. states.
