Sky has appointed Lisa Clark as commissioning executive on SNL UK, helping to shape the highly anticipated British take on the American late-night show.
Clark will collaborate with the unscripted entertainment team under Phil Edgar-Jones, executive director of unscripted originals, leveraging her extensive U.K. experience in comedy and entertainment. She has served on EP on shows such as Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, Top Gear, and Daisy May & Charlie Cooper’s NightWatch, as well as major live broadcasts such as the BAFTA TV Awards and Comic Relief. In addition to several production credits, Clark’s CV includes senior roles at BBC Entertainment and LWT.
Edgar-Jones commented, “The SNL UK team is made up of the very best producers, writers, and department heads in the industry, so I am thrilled to have landed a true TV legend in Lisa Clark as Sky’s commissioning executive. Saturday Night Live UK will launch on Sky and streaming service NOW, marking the first adaptation of the sketch comedy institution. The team includes James Longman (lead producer), Liz Clare (director) and Daran Jonno Johnson (head writer). Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team and Broadway Video lead production for Sky and NOW.
