FOX Entertainment Global is looking to expand the global footprint of its Extracted format with a new production hub in Malaysia.
The FOX survival competition series has drawn more than 45 million viewers over its two seasons.
The new hub has been established in Lake Kenyir, Malaysia, to enable a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective model for licensees. Season three of the U.S. edition has just wrapped production there. Malaysia provides tax incentives of up to 30% on qualifying production spend.
“Extracted has all the ingredients of a universally resonant format: a powerful premise, stunning visuals, unforgettable family dynamics, and incredibly high stakes,” said Prentiss Fraser, president of FOX Entertainment Global. “The infrastructure we’ve built in this Malaysia hub accelerates the series’ international expansion, offering licensees the infrastructure and expertise to create their own versions more efficiently, while delivering the scale and intensity that make the show so compelling.”
