5 has commissioned the Fremantle label Naked and Krempelwood to produce three specials about U.K. royalty exploring scandals and relationships.
Camilla: Of the People for the People will explore the rise in popularity of the Queen Consort over the last five decades. Elizabeth and Philip: A Royal Fairytale delves into the relationship between the late Queen Elizabeth II and her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Fergie and the Fake Sheikh Scandal tackles the scandal around the undercover footage by Mazher Mahmood showing the Duchess of York allegedly offering access to the former Prince Andrew for cash.
The three specials will feature archive footage, testimony, and insights from biographers, historians, and journalists.
Nicola Lloyd, creative director of Naked (a Fremantle label) and executive producer, said, “The Royal Family has long captivated audiences not just in the U.K. but across the globe, and these films explore their stories in a way that’s both revealing and richly entertaining.”
