The Investigation of Lucy Letby, a feature-length film from ITN Productions about the British nurse convicted of multiple murders, is slated to land on Netflix next month.
Launching globally on February 4, the doc follows the story of the neonatal nurse found guilty of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others under her care, hearing from the police investigators and delivering exclusive footage of Letby during her questioning. It also features lawyers and experts, and an anonymized interview with the mother of one of the victims.
Ian Rumsey, managing director of content at ITN, said: “This was an incredibly challenging story to tell. We’ve presented perspectives from all sides in order to let viewers draw their own conclusions. I’m enormously proud of the entire team, who’ve attempted to make the definitive documentary about this tragic case. It is ITN Productions at its best.”
Caroline Short, head of global TV at ITN Productions, said: “The access to all our contributors came with a huge responsibility to present everyone’s perspectives with care and understanding. We are grateful to all those people who trusted us to tell their story.”
Dominic Sivyer, director of The Investigation of Lucy Letby, said: “This was an exceptional and demanding project, marked by significant creative and ethical responsibility. Our aim was to craft a powerful, emotionally resonant depiction of the events surrounding the case.”
