ITV News’ Reporting History Digital Series Renewed for Season Three

The ITV News digital series Reporting History, hosted by Tom Bradby, is returning for a third season after the first two logged more than 3 million views.

Featuring reporters, presenters and camera operators as they revisit covering key moments in history, the series is made for a YouTube audience and leverages ITV News’ archive. Season three arrives on ITV News’ YouTube channel on November 27.

“Reporting History has become a brilliant way of opening up ITV News’ extraordinary archive and introducing a new generation of viewers to some of our most memorable journalism,” said Nina Hodgson, head of streaming at ITV News. “Our digital expertise means we understand how audiences like to watch and listen, so every episode is edited to hold attention from start to finish. It shows that a newsroom’s history can be one of its most powerful tools for reaching new audiences.”

Bradby added, “In my final year as a student in the late 80s, I spent many an afternoon avoiding my studies to watch some of the great events of our lifetime unfold live on TV—almost invariably on ITV. The Velvet Revolution in Prague, the Fall of the Berlin Wall, the Romanian Revolution—to name but a few. All I wanted to do was to get into ITN and to head out to these places to ensure a front-row seat. So it has been a huge privilege to sit down and chat to our journalists and camera teams who have covered the most dramatic days in ITN’s history. They have incredible stories to tell—about the events they covered but also of what was going on behind the scenes—and this series is one of the most interesting and honestly emotional things I have ever done in almost 40 years here.”
