Netflix has lined up three football-themed titles from Brazil this year, in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup, including a three-part doc about Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
Ronaldinho: The One and Only launches April 16, delivering an inside look at the legendary footballer and featuring commentary from the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. It is co-produced by Canal Azul and Trailer Films.
Tetra: Acreditar de Novo (USA 94: Brazil’s Return to Glory), landing May 7 and also produced by Trailer Films, dives into Brazil’s 1994 World Cup win using previously unseen footage.
Várzea: Onde Nasce o Futebol (The Root Of The Game) is set for a June 8 launch and spotlights the world of amateur várzea soccer in São Paulo. It is produced by Ginga Pictures in partnership with R21.
