Primitives has landed new deals on its formats Down the Road and The Smartest Person in the World in France and Poland, respectively.
Gulli is on board for a French adaptation of Down the Road. The local version, Sur la route 21, will feature French singer Matt Pokora accompanying six young adults with Down syndrome on a journey to Québec. The format was originally created in Belgium by Roses Are Blue and has been adapted in Germany, Romania, and Poland. The French version is produced by Mediawan’s 909 Productions and premieres this month.
Simone de Pruyssenaere, MD at Primitives, said: “We are thrilled to see Down the Road continue to resonate with international audiences in such powerful and positive ways. This French adaptation for Gulli celebrates courage, joy, and connection, and we look forward to sharing it with viewers who are hungry for meaningful, uplifting television.”
The Smartest Person in the World, meanwhile, is headed to TVP in Poland as Omnibus, produced by Rochstar. It was first produced by Woestijnvis for Play in Belgium.
Emma Gosling, sales and acquisitions manager at Primitives, commented, “The Smartest Person in the World continues to thrive thanks to its smart gameplay mixed with humour. Rochstar has a deep knowledge of the original format and is the perfect partners to bring Omnibus to life for TVP. We’re excited to see the format’s next chapter unfold.”
