Hayoung Rhee, formerly with CJ ENM, has joined Something Special as VP and head of sales.
The news comes as the format agency founded by Jin Woo Hwang and InSoon Kim marks the successful launch of Unforgettable Duet, which premiered to strong ratings in Korea on MBN. The producer of the series and head of productions for Something Special, Jacob (Jongbin) Han, will be at Asia TV Forum next week with Rhee and sales executive Courtney Boyett.
Rhee spent more than 13 years at CJ ENM, most recently as general manager of the entertainment division.
Hwang, president and executive producer, stated: “Something Special is so thrilled that our beloved series launched its full season on MBN to great success! After two weeks on air, the show earned top ratings and continues to attract new viewers. Our team is stronger than ever, and we look forward to furthering our mission of spreading Korean formats around the globe.”
