Turning Red Media is working with Rusk Media on a matchmaking reality show on YouTube.
The Indian media company is best known for the YouTube-led distribution of the Turkish drama Arafta. It has now rolled out Engaged, a matchmaking series, on YouTube worldwide via a three-year exclusive alliance with Rusk Media. Turning Red Media has packaged and launched the show for monetization in English. Dubbed versions in Arabic and Spanish will follow.
Hosted by David Alvareeezy, the series follows 16 singles from the U.S. who travel to India to find love.
“Our journey started with taking stories across borders,” said Rinku Basu, cofounder and COO of Turning Red Media. “Unscripted is the natural next step, and we’re delighted to take it with a partner as dynamic as Rusk Media.”
“YouTube is where reality TV lives now,” added Smita Agrawal, founder and CEO of Turning Red Media. “People watch, react, share and come back for more, and Engaged is built for that cycle. With one episode a week in three languages, a finale event and a live reunion, every release gives fans something new to talk about, wherever they are.”
“Young audiences today don’t think in borders,” noted Mayank Yadav, CEO and co-founder of Rusk Media. “They find stories on their phones, share them across languages, and build fandoms that span continents overnight. That’s the audience Rusk was built for, whether they speak Hindi, English, Arabic or Spanish. Partnerships like this one show what the next era of global entertainment looks like: stories that move freely, creators who collaborate across markets, and culture that flows in every direction, not just from West to East. Engaged is deeply Indian, but the question at its heart belongs to everyone, and we’re proud to take it to the world with Turning Red Media.”
Engaged premiered on YouTube last week, with new episodes every week across a 20-week season.
