ITV and ITVX have slated a third season of the U.K. version of the veteran game-show brand Wheel of Fortune, with Graham Norton returning as presenter.
The nine-episode order from Whisper North includes a Christmas special. The launch of the U.K. version last year was ITV’s biggest entertainment brand rollout since The 1% Club, while season two has reached over 20 million viewers so far this year.
“It’s brilliant news that Wheel of Fortune is back on ITV for Christmas and into the New Year,” said Sunil Patel, co-founder and CEO of Whisper. “It’s the ultimate feel-good family show that has become essential viewing and a fixture of the festive season. Graham Norton expertly navigates the perfect balance between Saturday night entertainment and down-to-earth comedy, making Wheel of Fortune heart-warming and hilarious, and the perfect start to an evening in front of the telly.”
Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment, reality and daytime commissioning at ITV, said: “Following two successful series, we’re delighted to welcome Graham back for a third outing of the Wheel of Fortune this Christmas and into the new year.”
The format is owned and distributed by Sony Pictures Television.
