Dandelooo is expanding into the teen and YA animation space, unveiling two original comedy series launching at MIPCOM.
Expanding beyond its traditional preschool and kids’ animation base, the French production and distribution outfit is eyeing distinctive creator-led projects.
Apocalypse Mojito, produced by French animation studio Passion Paris and directed by Julien Seze, is ready for delivery. The 2D show consists of 10×7-minute episodes. Armageddon Pizza, meanwhile, is a 26×13-minute series, currently in production at French animation studio Je Suis Bien Content, directed by Aurélien Bouillon and Fabien Limousin.
“Following the success of Lastman (Everybody on Deck), my colleagues Jean-Baptiste Wéry, Gennarino Romano and I have been looking for the next great 12+ animated series,” said Emmanuèle Pétry, partner and producer at Dandelooo. “We are thrilled to kick off this new department with two absurd comedies that tackle eco-anxiety in a fun way and are delighted to be working with the very talented studios JSBC and Passion Paris.”
