Sir Peter Bazalgette has been appointed as chairman of Acamar Films, the U.K. outfit behind the animated hit Bing.
Bazalgette succeeds David Brierwood, an investor in Acamar who remains on the board. He is a former chair of ITV and Emdemol UK and serves as co-chair of the UK’s Creative Industries Council.
Mikael Shields, CEO of Acamar Films and producer of Bing, noted: “We are delighted to share this news. The appointment of Baz as Chairman brings invaluable advice and support to our Board. His extensive experience across broadcasting, production and the global media industry have already helped to accelerate our plans for global growth.”
