The Marsupilamis, produced by Ellipse Animation and Belvision, has expanded its Nick Jr. footprint into the U.S.
The 52×11-minute series landed on the channel in the U.S. following its international rollout on the brand. The series has also rolled out on local broadcasters such as M6/Gulli in France, RTBF and VRT in Belgium, RTS in Switzerland and Radio-Canada.
The U.S. launch follows the publication in the U.S. and Canada of a comic book volume inspired by the animated series. The brand was created more than 70 years ago by André Franquin.
The series is directed by Célestine Plays, with head writing by Andrew Barnett Jones and Ciaran Murtagh and artistic direction by Guilhem Deckers. Mediatoon Distribution and Mediatoon Licensing handle international sales and consumer
products.
Caroline Duvochel, head of audiovisual and innovation at Média-Participations and MD of Ellipse Animation, noted, “We are thrilled to see The Marsupilamis continue its global rollout with its arrival in the U.S. This important milestone confirms our belief that these iconic characters can resonate with children and families all around the world. We thank the Nickelodeon team for their trust, enthusiasm, and commitment to bringing our series to international audiences.”
