Following a previously announced investment agreement, MFE-MediaForEurope has taken a 32.9% stake in Portuguese media group Impresa, becoming its second-largest shareholder.
MFE subscribed to 82.5 million newly issued Impresa shares for about €17.3 million. The Balsemão family’s Impreger—Sociedade Gestora de Participações Sociais retains control at 33.7% of shares. Francisco Pedro Balsemão serves as chairman of the board of directors and CEO of Impresa. MFE has appointed three directors to the board.
