HBO Max has launched a TVING-branded hub across the Asia Pacific, with the service live on the platform in 17 markets, including Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The hub is part of a multi-year partnership between CJ ENM and Warner Bros. Discovery that was announced in October. It will enable HBO Max to deliver to its AsiaPac subs new TVING originals, including The Judge Returns, starring Ji Sung. Additional titles now available include Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Reply 1988.
Jangho Seo, EVP of CJ ENM and CEO of Content Wavve, and Julie Choi, CEO of TVING, showcased their strategies for international expansion and offered insights into Korean content trends at Asia TV Forum last month. Seo referenced the importance of balancing TVING’s expansion strategy with CJ ENM’s existing global licensing business, which has traditionally been strong across Asia and has since expanded further afield to markets like LatAm.
