The BBC has picked up the rights to seasons one and two of I, Jack Wright, produced by Federation Stories and penned by Chris Lang.
Series one originally aired on U&alibi and BritBox in 2025. Production on season two is underway. It returns with Nikki Amuka-Bird, John Simm, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Daniel Rigby, and Harry Lloyd. Tom Austen and Zora Bishop are joining for the second season.
Sue Deeks, head of scripted pre-buy acquisitions at the BBC, commented, “I, Jack Wright is a terrific family thriller. Full of enjoyable performances, with really clever twists and turns, it is simply pure entertainment.”
Polly Williams, EP at Federation Stories, added, “I, Jack Wright is a riotous, pacey treat and we are so thrilled that series 1 and 2 will air on BBC. Dysfunctional families are endlessly fascinating, and in I, Jack Wright, Chris has created an unforgettable crew whom we hope audiences will be appalled, moved, and surprised by.”
Federation International secured a raft of deals for the first season, including ABC in Australia, HBO Max in France and CEE, NPO, Nova, Movistar, RTS, PCCW, YES, Sky New Zealand, and Nos Lusomundo in Portugal. Season one presold to BritBox, SVT, RUV, NRK, DR, YLE, and RBTF.
