Jill Halfpenny and Sally Lindsay are set to lead the cast of Number One Fan, a four-part thriller commissioned by 5 from Clapperboard.
The series, set in the world of daytime television, was announced by 5 last year. It is executive produced by Mike Benson and Suzi McIntosh for Clapperboard, with Brett Wilson as producer, Rachel Kilfeather as lead writer with Marcus Fleming and Paul Wilmshurst directing.
Sebastian Cardwell, deputy chief content officer and head of scripted at Paramount UK, greenlit the Clapperboard series, which has wrapped production in Spain and is set to air on 5 this year.
Benson, managing director for Clapperboard and EEP, noted, “We’ve obviously worked numerous times with two of the most talented actresses in the country in Sally and Jill—but never before in the same show. Seeing them both together on screen—and in two very surprising roles—is something I know viewers will be every bit as excited about as we are.”
