Alicia Silverstone is reprising her role from the 1990s teen comedy Clueless for an event series sequel at Paramount+.
Silverstone is also an EP on the show, which begins production in LA next year, picking up 30 years after the original film as it follows Cher Horowitz coping with her daughter’s high school years.
The series, written and executive produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage via Fake Empire, and Jordan Weiss, is being produced by CBS Studios. Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original film, and original film producer Robert Lawrence are on board as EPs.
The Paramount Pictures cult classic marked its 30th anniversary last year, with the cast and creatives reuniting for a 35mm screening of the film at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
