Keshet International has secured distribution deals for the original Israeli series The Baker and the Beauty, as well as the French and Indian versions of the rom-com.
All three seasons of Keshet 12’s original Israeli series, created by Assi Azar, have been sold to IZZY TV, which will air them with subtitles in 10 languages. Season one was also sold to Himalaya TV in Nepal.
The French version, La Belle et Le Boulanger, a four-part take from Marathon Studio and Terence Films for TF1, is headed to Mediaset España’s Telecinco and Ukraine’s Suspilne Kultura. Flow secured the Indian adaptation, produced by Annapurna Studios for aha, for Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
“With these new tape sales and five local adaptations produced to date, The Baker and the Beauty is one of those shows with undeniable universal appeal,” said Salomé Peillon, KI’s MD of distribution. “We’re particularly thrilled to help bring the French and Telugu adaptations of this captivating opposites-attract love story to viewers elsewhere.”
The format was also adapted in the U.S., the Netherlands, and Russia.
