R91, a six-part French thriller from Next Episode being distributed by SND Groupe M6, won the second edition of the Series Mania Buyers Upfront.
At the Series Mania Co-Pro Pitching Sessions, meanwhile, Red Pants, a ten-part action period drama from Kyrgyzstan—a first-time attendee at the Lille festival—was selected to receive the €50,000 prize.
The awards ceremony last night also saw the presentation of the SeriesMakers Award, presented by Series Mania Institute and Beta Film, to the Canadian project Chachachá! From Alison Fairweather Murray (writer/director) and Jennifer Weiss (producer, Nice Picture!). Beta will be servicing a SeriesMakers press release with additional information.
