Canada’s OMNI Television has acquired the Portuguese telenovela Vitória from SIC International Distribution.
OMNI has already fared well with the SIC titles Broken Promise and The Last Will. It is expected to launch the show in November.
A new version of Vitória, restructured into three seasons of 77, 39 and 24 episodes, is a key highlight for SIC International Distribution at MIPCOM. It is a remake of the Turkish drama Gülperi from TIMS and Global Agency.
Vitória was SIC’s first drama to premiere in partnership with streaming player Disney+. The five weekly episodes are made available on Opto and Disney+ every Sunday ahead of their linear broadcast on SIC.
SIC International Distribution also lands in Cannes with Chapters of Life, based on Globo’s Pages of Life, and Broken Promise, adapted from the Turkish drama Ruthless City.
