DAZN has acquired the LatAm streaming platform Basket.tv as it builds out its basketball rights portfolio and expands its position in the region.
The platform was founded in 2020 as a dedicated service for basketball coverage, cementing a footprint across Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Uruguay. It delivers around 4,900 matches each season across more than 300 teams, including top-tier domestic leagues in the markets where it operates, as well as selected international club competitions.
The DAZN basketball portfolio includes content from the NBA and select constituent teams, NCAA college basketball, Super League Basketball, LNB Élite, Liga Endesa, and Copa del Rey. It also has a multi-year partnership with FIBA.
Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said: “Basket.tv has built a high-quality basketball platform with top-tier domestic rights, deep market expertise and an impressive technology operation. This acquisition significantly strengthens our global basketball proposition and supports our broader growth ambitions across Latin America. Together, we’ll create great value for fans, leagues and partners while continuing to grow the sport around the world.”
