ORF-Enterprise has added to its distribution slate a documentary about the Habsburg jewels, which were recently found in a Canadian bank vault after having gone missing in 1918.
The Theft of the Imperial Crown Jewels, directed by Wolfgang Winkler, explores the disappearance of the jewelry collection, which included Empress Elisabeth’s diamond crown, Emperor Rudolf II’s Austrian imperial crown, and the 137-carat yellow Florentine Diamond, in November 1918.
The doc is a co-production between ORF/3sat and Pammer Film and is being offered to broadcasters and platforms worldwide by ORF-Enterprise.
“The Theft of the Imperial Crown Jewels not only unravels a fascinating historical mystery but also sheds light on a captivating episode of history that has intrigued for decades,” said Armin Luttenberger, head of content sales international at ORF-Enterprise. “We are thrilled to bring this compelling story to audiences worldwide, offering both intrigue and insight into one of history’s most captivating heists.”
