AI actor Tilly Norwood has landed her first starring role, with Particle 6 beginning development on Misaligned.
Founded by Eline van der Velden, Particle 6 is now in development on its first full-length AI film, with Norwood as the lead of the coming-of-age comedy/drama. Misaligned will employ a hybrid production model, featuring directors, writers and editors working alongside AI specialists. AI training and mentorship is being built into the production itself.
“Our work this year has proven something we suspected all along,” said van der Velden, CEO and founder of Particle 6. “AI can support premium narrative filmmaking, but only with substantial amounts of human craft, skill, judgment and time. That’s not a limitation of the technology. That’s the point. The filmmakers who thrive in the next decade will be the ones who bring decades of storytelling instinct to these new tools, and Misaligned is where we put that to work at feature scale.”
Misaligned is set inside the “Tillyverse” as Particle 6 builds out the Tilly Norwood universe.
“The film will absolutely be funny, chaotic and self-aware—very Tilly,” van der Velden added. “But underneath it, there’s something deeper about identity, performance, and our very human fears around AI. And yes, art will most definitely be imitating life.”
The studio is currently aligning with collaborators for the film, which will be produced alongside Particle 6’s slate of AI production, co-production and service work in film and television.
