FOX Latin America Acquires Tigo Sports Channel

FOX Latin America has acquired the Tigo Sports Channel in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, and is set to rebrand the service as FOX Channel.

The deal encompasses a portfolio of sports rights as well as a production network and access to talent. Strengthening its Central America, FOX will launch four feeds delivering a more robust lineup for Tigo’s customers. The portfolio includes El Salvador’s Primera División and the full Panamanian Football League, exclusive teams from Costa Rica’s Liga Promérica and Guatemala’s Liga Bantrab, plus other local rights and original content. FOX’s existing international rights slate includes the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League, the Bundesliga (starting with the 2026–27 season), the Saudi Pro League and Liga MX, in addition to a slate of women’s football sports rights from Mexico and Europe. FOX in Central America will offer more than 800 live sports events annually across other disciplines such as professional baseball (MLB), MMA (PFL, AAA lucha libre), the NASCAR Cup Series, Formula E, WRC and WEC in motorsports and college sports. FOX will be available on pay-TV platforms, via Tubi, and eventually on the FOX+ channel on-demand and on the FOX One direct-to-consumer streaming service.

“Central America is a region with a deep passion for sports, and we are excited to strengthen our presence by delivering a first-class sports service that blends local content and talent with our existing international rights,” said Carlos Martinez, EVP and MD for FOX Latin America.

Leandro Lagos has been appointed to lead FOX in Central America.
