DAZN has reached a deal to feature live, free coverage of the Guardians League surf racing series worldwide.
The deal begins with the inaugural Oceania Tour in November and December 2027 across Australia and New Zealand and carries into Guardians League’s planned expansion into the U.S. and the Americas in 2028. Coverage will be available worldwide, excluding Australia, New Zealand and China.
In addition to live coverage, the sports streaming platform will carry ancillary Guardians League content.
“DAZN brings fans the most compelling sports from around the world, and Guardians League is an exciting new addition to our global content portfolio,” said Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group. “Its innovative format, world-class athletes, and spectacular coastal settings have all the ingredients to attract a new generation of fans. By making Guardians League available free-to-view on DAZN’s innovative platform, we can introduce surf racing to a global audience and support the series’ growth from day one.”
Adrian Tobin, MD and co-founder of Guardians League, added, “DAZN is the ideal global platform to help us introduce Guardians League and the incredible sport of surf racing to the world. We are creating Guardians League around a simple idea: take some of the world’s best athletes and let them battle it out in one of the most exciting and unpredictable sporting environments on the planet—the surf. For the first time, fans will see global stars from swimming, athletics, kayak and surf lifesaving join forces to represent iconic coastal cities. The ocean provides the arena, but the athletes, teams, rivalries and coastal communities will provide the stories that we believe can build a passionate global fan base.”
