Christian Toksvig’s Cocoa Media has landed a deal that brings the Merhaba Türkische Filme FAST channel to Samsung TV Plus in Germany, with additional platforms to follow.
The Turkish film network will soon also be available on LG Channels, TitanOS TV, TCL TV, and Whale TV, extending its reach across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This is Cocoa Media’s second FAST channel and follows the success of Merhaba Türkische Serien, available on Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Pluto TV, and Rakuten TV in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
“While Turkish TV series have a long and storied history in international markets, Turkish movies have always been watched more by domestic audiences,” said Toksvig, founder and CEO of Cocoa Media. “This is now changing with the launch of the new channel. Audiences in Germany, Turkish and German speakers alike, will now have access to a free 24/7 Turkish movie channel featuring recent movie hits as well as popular classics. The channel airs in original Turkish audio with German subtitles.”
Cocoa Media’s content partner for the channel is Otro Media, home to an extensive library if Turkish films, including classics that have been restored. Ozan Temiz and Erkan Büker, co-founders of Otro Media, noted: “We are proud to bring our country’s storied film heritage to both loyal Turkish audiences in Germany as well as new audiences who have never experienced Turkish cinema before.”
