Scripps Unveils Sports FAST Network

The E.W. Scripps Company has launched a sports FAST channel featuring a wealth of women’s leagues and a slate of originals.

The Scripps Sports Network streaming channel is set to feature a wealth of women’s sports, including matches from the Professional Women’s Hockey League, the National Women’s Soccer League and Major League Volleyball, plus Women’s National Basketball Association content. The lineup will also deliver original series, docs, sports talk shows, and more. It launched today with State Farm as founding advertising partner on The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Fire TV and Alexa, Google TV Freeplay, Xumo Play, TCL tv+, TCL Channel, Plex, Local Now, Sports.TV, and Tablo, with more platforms to come.

“In today’s fragmented sports media landscape, Scripps Sports Network is meeting the moment as a reliable, easy-to-access home for passionate fans,” said Keisha Taylor Starr, GM of Scripps Networks and Scripps CMO. “We are delivering what viewers want, and advertisers need: premium sports content, live games, compelling personalities, and year-round programming that’s freely accessible to streaming audiences. Our programming lineup makes Scripps Sports Network the most premium sports destination in the FAST marketplace.”

“Our recent live sports streaming growth tells us that fans are hungry for more,” said Brian Lawlor, president of Scripps Sports. “A dedicated 24/7 sports FAST channel allows us to further leverage our existing sports rights, create a platform for emerging league partnerships and grow our position in sports, particularly women’s sports, all while serving fans and marketing partners year-round.”

The originals slate includes conversation series hosted by sports broadcaster Suzy Kolber and Olympic track and field champion Sanya Richards-Ross, with ten new shows in development. Acquired content on the network includes Cold as Balls with Kevin Hart and a slate of sports podcasts.

Scripps also announced a new original for Bounce, in partnership with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat and BluSpeed Productions: The Silver Fox Squad, an unscripted series. The company also revealed Grit’s expansion into originals, with several shows in development, as it prepares for its Upfront presentation tomorrow.
