Banijay Entertainment has announced further activity in the vertical video space, with Banijay Productions Germany developing a slate of microdrama formats.
This week, the company revealed that Banijay Iberia is prepping a trio of microdramas, while Banijay Finland is producing a video mockumentary for Yle that will be available as both 9:16 and 16:9. The latest initiative sees Banijay Productions Germany making an as-yet-untitled project with 28 episodes and a cast of eight well-known German creators that have a combined reach of more than 33 million followers. It is being exec-produced by Imke Runde.
Katrin Stefanović, MD of Banijay Productions Germany, commented: “Through platforms and mobile usage, narrative forms and viewing habits are shifting rapidly. Microdramas offer an exciting space to experiment with new formats and distribution models. As a forward-facing company, we feel it’s important to shape trends, and by combining our expertise with Imke’s, we have created a debut to demonstrate how impactful creator-led, mobile-first storytelling can be.”
