True Corporation and Astro alum Desmond Ngai has been tapped as the head of international partnerships and business development for AsiaPac and MENA at V+Short, the vertical content app launched by Indonesia’s MNC Digital Entertainment.
“After 18 years in OTT and digital media across Asia, I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep learning and building—this time in the fast-growing world of microdrama and shortform video, powered by creators and AI,” Ngai said.
V+Short is a freemium mobile-first platform delivering global content as well as local originals. Global expansion is a key remit for the platform.
“The launch of V+Short marks an important milestone in our ongoing digital evolution, as we continue to shape a platform that is aligned with the rapid shift toward mobile- first content consumption,” Angela Tanoesoedibjo, president director and CEO of MNC Digital Entertainment, told Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post at a launch event earlier this summer. “Through V+Short, we aim to deliver premium, emotionally engaging storytelling in a short-form format that is both accessible and scalable. Supported by our growing capabilities in AI-driven content production, we are able to enhance creative efficiency, accelerate development cycles, and unlock new storytelling formats. This positions us to connect with audiences on a broader, global level.”
