100 Knives Heads to Denmark in First Adaptation

Banijay Entertainment’s culinary format 100 Knives, which launched in Sweden, has landed its first adaptation, scoring a commission at TV 2 in Denmark.

Produced by Metronome, part of Banijay Nordic, the adaptation is being filmed on the set created by Mastiff Sweden for use on the original TV4 commission. The format was co-developed with Bunim/Murray Productions, part of Banijay Americas, and Smart Dog Media.

Tina Christensen, MD of Metronome, said: “100 Knives is a high-intensity format that pushes contestants to deliver at an exceptional level. Its scope, energy, and emotional drive set it apart, while the calibre of talent brings genuine culinary excellence to every challenge. Delivering the first international version has been a major creative opportunity, and collaborating with colleagues at Mastiff Sweden has allowed us to retain the format’s ambition while shaping it for TV 2’s audiences.”

Thomas Richardt Strøbech, channel controller at TV 2 Denmark, added, “With its huge cast, fierce eliminations, wild twists, and emphasis on teamwork, 100 Knives brings together the best elements of reality television. The contestants’ passion for their craft is unmistakable as they make fast, pressure-cooker decisions with absolute precision. Viewers will quickly find their favourites to champion throughout, driving incredibly gripping television from the very first episode.”

James Townley, chief content officer, development, at Banijay Entertainment, noted, “The swift international uptake of 100 Knives reflects the growing demand for premium, emotionally driven formats that deliver scale and ambition. This adaptation showcases the strength of our creative network at Banijay Entertainment, with cross-territory teams collaborating on the initial development, through to production in Sweden and now Denmark. It’s an excellent example of how partnerships fuel global hits.”
