The BBC has confirmed a three-year deal to keep The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One and BBC iPlayer until at least 2030.
Both versions of the All3Media International format are made by Studio Lambert Scotland. The deal also cements the BBC as the U.K.’s home of the franchise with the U.S., Irish, Australian, and New Zealand versions.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment commissioning at the BBC, said: “We are proud to remain faithful to The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors until 2030 and wanted to say a big thank you to the outstanding team at Studio Lambert Scotland for bringing it to screen. We can’t wait to share many more twists and turns with viewers all across the U.K. in the coming years.”
Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, added, “The Traitors has become a genuine television phenomenon across the world, but especially in the U.K., and we’re thrilled to continue the journey with the BBC. It’s hugely exciting that audiences will have many more years of strategy, suspense, and shocking twists still to come.”
The Celebrity Traitors was a breakout hit for the BBC when it launched in October, delivering an average audience of 14.9 million. Season two will air later this year, with new installments annually through season five in 2029.
The Traitors recently wrapped its fourth season, scoring a 28-day average of 12.5 million viewers, largely on iPlayer. Season five arrives next year, with six in 2028, seven in 2029, and eight in 2030.
An Economic Impact Report published by the BBC in November 2025 found that the The Traitors franchise—including the U.K., U.S., and celebrity editions generated an estimated £21.8 million boost in Gross Value Added (GVA) to Scotland’s economy since filming began in 2022.
