BBC Studios & Rogan Productions Renew First-Look

BBC Studios is continuing its alliance with Rogan Productions, taking on distribution rights to the indie’s slate and providing development funding for another three years.

The two companies first started working together in 2020 and since then, BBC Studios has brought Rogan productions to more than 220 markets. The alliance has covered such titles as Freddie: The Final Act, ABBA: Against the Odds, and Putin: A Russian Spy Story. Most recently, BBC Studios sealed a range of co-pro deals on the upcoming C4 commission Free Nelson Mandela.

Tom Young, head of indie partnerships for factual at BBC Studios, said, “Rogan Productions continue to set the standard in the factual genre, both in the U.K. and internationally. Their ability to cast fresh light on stories—exploring complex subjects with bold ambition, nuance, and genuine curiosity—is exceptional. Over the past five years, our collaborative partnership has enabled us to bring their critically acclaimed documentaries to audiences around the world. We’re delighted to be extending this relationship.”

Soleta Rogan, managing director at Rogan, commented, “We are proud and excited to continue our partnership with BBC Studios, who have supported us in showcasing our factual content across the globe with great success. As we focus on this next phase of collaboration, Rogan is excellently positioned to continue building the scope and scale of its output, knowing it has world-leading expertise bringing our particular brand of factual programming to international audiences.”
