Blue Ant Acquires Two BossaNova Projects

Two projects out of BossaNova Media’s recent Development Day—The Land That Made Us and Ruins: Rise and Fall—have been acquired by Blue Ant Media.

The Land That Made Us, a MIPCOM highlight for the company, has also presold to Channel 4 in the U.K., BBC Select in the U.S. and SBS Australia. Ruins: Rise and Fall, produced by Like A Shot, uses immersive 3D-CGI to reanimate ruins from around the ancient world. For both titles, BossaNovaa guaranteed the entire production budget.

“We’re looking forward to bringing Ruins: Rise and Fall and The Land that Made Us with Professor Alice Roberts to viewers on Smithsonian Channel Canada and Cottage Life, respectively,” said Craig Junner, EVP and GM of global channels and streaming at Blue Ant Media. “Both series offer compelling stories and a fresh perspective on the world around us that make them perfect for Blue Ant’s portfolio of global channels.”

Alex Lindsay, sales manager at BossaNova, said, “Blue Ant has been a long-standing partner of BossaNova, so it’s fantastic to see them board two Development Day green-light projects.  This is a real testament to the important role BossaNova plays in funding exciting premium series through international collaboration.”
