BossaNova Aligns with Energy UK for Digital-First Strand

BossaNova Media has unveiled a pilot partnership with Energy UK, the trade association for the energy industry, for the launch of a digital-first content strand.

The strand, Energy Explained, spanning science, engineering, history and the future, will initially feature footage or access provided by Energy UK and its members. Klik Studios, BossaNova’s sister company (formerly known as Night Train Digital), will leverage its YouTube chops to support the project. Neil Francis leads Klik Studios under the recently restructured Serafin group, overseeing more than 60 channels with a combined audience of over 25 million subscribers and more than 3.5 billion watch hours.

Juliette Sanders, chief communications officer at Energy UK, commented, “We rely on energy in our daily lives; it powers our homes, businesses, hospitals, schools, transport and more. Not only is the way we generate and transport energy complex, but it’s also changing, and people understandably have questions. We’re excited to be working with BossaNova and Klik to answer these questions. At Energy UK, we are not just committed to ensuring people have the facts. We want to tell the stories about some of the amazing technical feats of wonder, from turbines that float at sea to power stations inside mountains, and open the door to stunning visuals that few people get to see.”

Francesca Johnson, head of acquisitions at BossaNova, noted, “As we navigate the seismic shifts in our industry, it’s very much in our focus to continue to service traditional TV markets whilst developing innovative strategy for emerging digital first opportunities. This partnership with Energy UK puts us firmly in the driving seat on a subject that has never been more relevant—decarbonization and the energy transition to renewables—in a brand-new format that is fun, informative and accessible. We’re committed to putting climate on screen through entertaining brands and formats that have an impact, and this is an important first step.”
