Sam Barcroft’s Creatorville, which became part of independent press agency SWNS Media Group in 2025, and John Farrar’s Homecoming Studios have joined forces for two true-crime docs.
Buried in the Past charts a woman’s quest for answers about a suspected murder she witnessed as a child. Key Witness is a true crime anthology based on a SWSN-operated YouTube channel. One is set for a broadcaster while the other is in the works for a global streamer.
The partnership leverages Creatorville’s access to SWNS and Homecoming Studios’ doc storytelling chops.
Two additional projects are being introduced at MIPCOM, where both companies will be seeking partners on the newly unveiled titles.
Barcroft said, “Through our sister company SWNS, we have the privilege of working with journalists who uncover extraordinary stories and earn the trust of the people at their heart. This collaboration allows us to bring that journalism and access to television audiences around the world.”
Farrar said, “The strongest true crime documentaries begin with access, trust, and a story that demands to be told now. Creatorville and SWNS bring an extraordinary depth of journalism and relationships to this process. I’m delighted to be working with Sam again, and having already secured two series, our collaboration is very much up and running. I’m excited about what we can build together.”
