First-Ever 24/7 MasterChef Scored 64 Million Viewers in Mexico

EndemolShine Boomdog’s MasterChef México 24/7, which has streamed simultaneously on TV Azteca and Disney+ since its May launch, logged more than 64 million viewers over the course of its first season.

The first-ever 24/7 version of the hit Banijay Entertainment format was watched by seven out of ten Mexican households every week, according to HR Media data reported by ACAM. The show also generated 2.3 billion online impressions and more than 51 million social media interactions.

“We are thrilled with the outcome of the world’s first live, 24/7 version of MasterChef, and especially proud that Mexico was the country where it became a reality,” said Frank Scheuermann, chief content officer at EndemolShine Boomdog. “The Mexican audience’s response and the confidence shown by our partners—TV Azteca and Disney+—were key to the project’s success. It was a major challenge for everyone involved, and we are incredibly proud to see how the audience embraced this new model, connected with the contestants, and immersed themselves even further in the world of MasterChef. We wanted to bring the audience closer to the culinary process without losing the essence or excitement of the competition, and we believe we succeeded.”

The format has spawned over 70 local adaptations with more than 700 seasons produced. MasterChef Mexico has been airing on TV Azteca since 2015.
