ITV has commissioned its own version of the extreme golf competition Holey Moley, hosted by Ant & Dec.
Fremantle holds the production and distribution rights to the format, also known as Hole In One, from its Eureka Productions label for ABC. It first rolled out in the U.S. on ABC and in Australia on Seven Network.
ITV’s will be a four-part event co-produced by Talkback Thames (a Fremantle label) and Mitre Studios. Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment, reality and daytime commissioning at ITV, noted, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce a brand-new entertainment format presented by Ant & Dec. Holey Moley is brilliantly competitive and enormous fun, making it a compelling watch for all.”
Charlie Irwin, MD at Talkback Thames, added, “Holey Moley is big, it’s funny, and it’s unapologetically entertaining. It’s already demonstrated its strength as a global entertainment format, combining scale, humor, and genuine competitive jeopardy, so with Ant & Dec at the helm, it’s perfect for ITV, and we’re delighted to be bringing it to UK audiences.”
Gemma Nightingale, head of entertainment at Mitre Studios, commented, “Holey Moley is a fantastically fun format that’s perfect for the whole family. It has a bit of everything: ambition, tension, laugh-out-loud moments, and of course Ant & Dec, who’ll be teasing off all the action. We can’t wait to introduce ITV viewers to the crazy world of Holey Moley.”
Fremantle is building a global production hub for the format in Portimão, Portugal.
Holey Moley is a registered trademark of Funlab IP.
