Limonero Films has picked up from Finland’s Parad Media the distribution rights to the four-part true-crime series Bock Saga, with the show launching at Sunny Side of the Doc this week.
The series is premiering on Yle next month and has been presold to NRK, SVT, and DR. The doc follows the story of Ior Bock, a self-proclaimed mystic, and the followers of his “Bock Saga” teachings, which included trance parties in Goa and an underground temple in Finland.
Axel Högström, CEO and producer at Parad Media, said, “We have been working on this documentary for five years now, tracing the ripples of the alternative creation myth that Bock proclaimed. The production has taken us all over the world–from the dark woods of Finland to sex parties in Berlin, to the slums of Goa, and all the way to sunny California. It is a truly compelling story that transcends both space and time! For me, Bock Saga is the ultimate proof that truth really is stranger than fiction, and I am very happy that Limonero helps us share this once-in-a-lifetime gem with international audiences.”
Pamela Martínez Martínez, founder and CEO of Limonero Films, added, “We have been following its development for many months now and are very impressed by the final product. True crime, cults, eccentric characters, a treasure! It has all the ingredients to be a hit! ´
