Middlechild Productions has created a new sister company, Wildchild Studios, to drive its digital content efforts.
“We’ve been making digital-first content for a while now,” said David Sumnall, founder and CEO of Middlechild Productions. “It felt like the perfect moment to create a stand-alone studio built entirely around digital storytelling and innovation.”
Sumnall will oversee Wildchild alongside MD Andrew Eastel.
Middlechild’s I Printed a Gun: Plastic and Deadly was named best documentary at the Broadcast Digital Awards. It also runs the popular YouTube channel, Gardening with Alan Titchmarsh.
Wildchild launches with two new YouTube channel, one fronted by a chef and the other exploring the world of pets. By the end of next year, the venture aims to be running five original YouTube channels. It will also produce premium digital content for leading online platforms.
