Sipur, FOX Entertainment Studios, and Fulwell Entertainment are set to co-produce a new documentary about judoka champions Saeid Mollaei and Sagi Muki from Yariv Mozer, who previously directed We Will Dance Again.
Blood Brothers charts the story of Iranian judoka, Olympic medalist and world champion, Saeid Mollaei, who defied government orders to compete against Israeli rival, also an Olympic medalist and world champion, Sagi Muki. It is being co-produced by Sipur Studios, FOX Entertainment Studios, and Bitachon365, a Fulwell Entertainment company, for commissioning broadcaster Reshet 13 in Israel.
Sipur Studios CEO Emilio Schenker said, “Blood Brothers originated from an extraordinary friendship between two courageous athletes who dared to break through walls of fear, ideology, and hatred in a reality where regimes and borders try to dictate who is an enemy and who is a friend. Especially now, as tensions between Israel, the U.S., and Iran reach a peak, the friendship between Saeid and Sagi reminds us of the power of an individual to stand bravely against a regime, even at the risk of his life, and his power to create light and hope amid chaos.”
