The French-Canadian dating format Temptations Under the Sun has joined the Banijay Entertainment slate.
Banijay Entertainment has taken on the global rights to the format, a spinoff of Canada’s longest-running reality romance show, Occupation Double, which has aired for more than 20 years.
From Productions J, the French version, OD: Tentations au soleil, was Crave strongest Canadian original debut of 2024, while the English-language version, Temptations Under the Sun, cracked the top five with its August launch.
“We’re seeing an increased demand for high-volume reality, and with its blend of attraction and strategy, Temptations Under the Sun is the ideal format to sustain strong storytelling across multiple episodes,” said Helen Greatorex, head of format acquisitions at Banijay Entertainment. “It transforms the search for love into a high-stakes game of risk and reward, while reflecting the shifting dynamics of modern dating. Distinctive and scalable, it offers producers worldwide a format built for local adaptation.”
Julie Snyder, president of Productions J, added, “Temptations Under the Sun takes everything viewers love about Occupation Double—bold personalities, evolving connections and unforgettable twists—and builds it into an even sharper tactical game. Its performance on Crave demonstrates how strongly viewers have embraced that evolution, and we are proud to partner with Banijay Entertainment to take the format beyond Canada.”
