TVF International has sold a range of premium docs and factual series into Central and Eastern Europe in the run-up to NEM Dubrovnik.
Ceska Televize, Telewizja Polsat, Canal+ Polska, HRT, and Slovak Television and Radio all acquired packages of up to 200 hours. The shows featured in the deals include Channel 4’s Great British Train Journeys from Above and The World from Above.
In addition, TVF International is co-producing with Telewizja Polsat the two-part Poland from Above. A slate of history and arts shows, including France TV’s Maria Callas: The Unsung Greek Years, is headed to Canal+ Polska. Telewizja Polska opted for Untold Arctic Wars from Finnish public broadcaster Yle. China’s Abandoned Daughters from CNA in Singapore and Childhood Obesity: The Overlooked Pandemic from Movistar Plus+ were acquired by TVN.
Ceska Televize landed premium wildlife titles such as Japan’s Wild Side from Tokyovision and China’s Wild Secrets from bilibili. Secrets of the Brain with Jim Al-Khalili and 24 Hours That Changed the World are featured in a package for FTV Prima. Escape from Chernobyl: 48 Hours that Changed the World is headed to Hearst Networks across a number of territories, among them Poland, Hungary, and Romania.
In Slovakia, STVR chose Arming the Arctic from Wildcat Films and France TV’s Ulysses: From Myth to Science. Estonian broadcaster Telia Eesti secured a package that includes How to Poison a Planet, while ERR went for AI & You from RTE and AI at Work: Who Runs the Office?. The deals are rounded out by JMU RTV Serbia taking titles such as NDR/Arte’s Rauschenberg: Everything is Art, and Croatian pubcaster HRT licensing a collection of aerials and health titles, including The Ozempic Effect.
